The Woman’s Club of Norfolk, founded in 1905, remains dedicated to its 100 years + mission of supporting women, families, and communities on their journeys to reaching their full potential. As a WCN member, it is my honor to announce the launch of the Woman’s Club of Norfolk “Amanda Skie Gallon” $2,500 Post-Secondary Educational Scholarship.
This scholarship honors the life and legacy of Amanda Skie Gallon, beloved daughter of WCN member Samantha Peavy, whose young life of promise was tragically cut short due to gun violence.
It is our hope that our Woman’s Club of Norfolk scholarship will help support a qualifying woman’s post-secondary educational pursuit (college or trade). The award selection will be based on the candidate’s compelling life story need, financial need, examples of overcoming life challenges/obstacles, assisting other women on their life journey, and aspiration to use these funds in pursuit of education (college or trade) for the achievement of life/career goals.
Deadlines: April 30, 2022: All application materials must be received (email or hard copy) at the Woman’s Club of Norfolk.
May 27, 2022: Scholarship selection made by Woman’s Club of Norfolk Scholarship Committee.
Award will be presented in June 2022.
